Underground Collision Disrupts Money 20/20

By Sue Mitchell, Mitchell Stankovic and Underground Founder

Everybody talks disruption, but no one really wants to change. Get ready – we plan to converge in Las Vegas to #STANDUP for Credit Unions. The industry is #CUSTRONG with more than 260 million members worldwide. Yes, 260 million - Credit Unions are a dominant force globally! Underground Collision is innovating, breaking new ground to garner consumer attention and market position regarding #CUMoney. Let’s show the world that credit unions mean more than money and have the collaborative spirit to make a measurable impact!

On Saturday, October 26th, the Underground will collide with the Money 20/20 Conference in Las Vegas to address credit unions’ relevance in the current and future world of money! We are breaking rules and pushing to have credit unions get a seat at the table. Join us! Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of the first #CUMoney Global Underground!

You will have a voice in the dialogue, and we want to have diverse opinions. What are credit unions NOT doing in the world of money and what can we do about it? What issues or opportunities will rise to the forefront? Biggest names with the biggest force within the industry will take the stage to talk collaboration and BIG solutions.

Please know that I am not ashamed to twist your arm. To register, click here now!

Not going to Money 20/20? Fly in for the day. We recognize this is not a typical credit union forum, but we want to make a huge statement to change all of that! Credit unions are here, our mission is clear – members mean more than money!

Credit unions need to be a force for cooperative principles anywhere the future is being discussed. If you are attending, come a day early and meet a new network of thought leaders dedicated to the credit union principles – and we mean more than money. #CUMoney. Be one of the early adopters who understand that times are changing quickly. Here they are, talking about the future of money and startups and just a few dozen credit unions are attending. We need credit unions at the table!

We will arrive at Zappos headquarters’ WOW Theatre on Oct. 26, at 1:00 pm and engage in thoughtful dialogue with top credit union leaders until 5:00 pm. Check out who will be on stage – WOW is right. Then we get to walk across the street in a walk back in time to the Mob Museum and the Underground Speakeasy with a secret password and whiskey in a tumbler.

This is more than a meeting: It is a march toward the future. Brush off your Vegas wear and join us as we #STANDUP for credit unions in a space that will go WOW. #CUMoreThanMoney

Underground Collision Founder Sue Mitchell was recently a guest on the CU 2.0 podcast, talking about the strategic influence of the community. Listen here!

The theme is the Complexity of #CUMoney. We will debate and dig deeper into Fintech, Diversity, Immigration, Cooperation, Thinking BIG, Cash for Cannabis and making a difference through the power of collaboration vs the for-profit sector. There are 3,400 companies, 400+ startups and 2300+ C-Suite Executives representing 88 countries attending the Money 20/20 Conference but only 11% are from the banks or credit unions! We will tap local press to build momentum and exposure of the Underground Community and credit unions throughout Money 20/20. We will also have trade press covering the Collision as we continue our momentum of thought leadership!

System partners are engaged, including:

  • Balance
  • CO-OP Financial Services
  • CUNA Mutual Group

At past Collisions, we’ve collided with NACUSO to discuss driving income and giving back to credit unions and our communities. In the Bahamas, the Underground collided with the World Young Credit Union Professionals group (WYCUP) to bring legacy and emerging leaders together, identify roadblocks and find paths to #fasttrack leadership! Earlier this year in Washington, DC, Civic FCU President Dwayne Naylor talked about how his startup credit union would bring a new digital avenue to the $2.2 billion Local Government Federal Credit Union (NC), and Jennifer Oliver, president/CEO of South Bay Credit Union, shared her credit union’s quick-to-market strategies of experimentation adapted from fintechs.

To me, it's one person, one step, one initiative at a time. The same mission won’t work for every credit union, but an extraordinary level of passion will work for every credit union. What we're doing is important, and we ain't gonna stop doing it until we stop breathing.

If you’re new to the Underground Community, the Underground is the brainchild of Mitchell, Stankovic & Associates, comprising cooperative thought leaders who openly and frankly discuss critical issues that strike at the core of credit unions that other conferences won’t touch. Audience participation is a must! We’ve tackled social issues, the human impact on digital transformation, the realities of marijuana banking, how to fast track emerging leaders, speeding up tech advances, CUSOs: For Profit or For Credit Unions and much more. We want you to join us on this journey! Please visit www.mitchellstankovic.com/underground for more information!
